A move I don’t fully understand – I’ve recently and reluctantly switched from Safari to Firefox on OS X due to the poor way it handled some javascript heavy sites, what it had going for it was tight OS integration. On Windows, hmmm.

Mindblowing use of social media
This talk is a fantastic demo of a use of Photosynth & Seadragon, which could let socially-shared and tagged photos build near real-looking virtual environments. Microsoft (indeed!) has a couple of demos up running, including one in collaboration with the BBC for their How we built Britain series. Doesn’t work on OS X as yet, but it’s worth begging to borrow a mate’s PC.
